'In 2025, the Tour will be one of my big goals again' - The Eritrean looks set to return to the Tour de France in 2025 to defend his green points jersey
2024 was a season beyond expectations for Biniam Girmay. The Tour de France green jersey winner, and victor of three stages, is aiming for more in 2025.
The Eritrean revealed in October after the 2025 Tour de France route announcement that he will return to the Tour this year for his third participation in the race. He will also hope to return to his best in the spring’s cobbled classics, after showing glimpses of his peak classics form in 2024.

A possible return to the Giro d’Italia this year is unconfirmed. A stage winner in 2022, Girmay was third on stage three of the race in 2024, but crashed out of the Italian Grand Tour a day later.
