Have you information on numbers of riders competing as cyclists in various African countries, overall representations at these championships ?

I've not had time to get the exact numbers, but several of the usual suspects were depleted (Algeria, SA, Mauritius), while several east African countries were better represented than usual as you might expect

Indeed..how big is the cycling community in various places? When I lived in Nigeria was nil, ditto a few other places…Sierra Leone..where I’ve been..but that was way back..so altho I see the names I haven’t a context as to the rider base ..it’s such a struggle ..

Across the board, things are growing. Nigeria and Sierra Leone both have developing structures, albeit at different stages. SL just don't have the funds to take a team to the Conti champs. They are hoping to send a women's team to the upcoming Tour of Burundi though.

I like that..I landed in SL right before civil war began..I have is so much hope for African cycling..heck, hope for Africa…it’s such an amazing continent..
