In the best of worlds there still is no entitlement..and the semi pro nature of so much “amateur” cycling is nuts..while SA is a mess, so are national cycling federations in Canada and elsewhere funding herds of riders to international events.perspective has been lost. Besides with the world a Trump and Musk madman show cycling seems rather low on the merit order
100%..especially from the likes of SA..unfortunately NA and UK have riders with sense of entitlement: I want to ride- give me money…vs the grinders…am glad you highlight the grinders: the riders who do the work, and when they can put back…often not given recognition they deserve…domestiques of the sport….

I think the reality is that life is tough on both sides of the table, for both riders and federations from nations like SA and Canada
